Greetings to all South Norwalk Boat Club Captains.  As sad as it is to say, the unofficial end of summer is upon us.  With Labor Day this coming weekend, we will all begin to start thinking about transitioning to fall.  Every year summer seems to go by so fast, and this year was no exception.  We had such a full season of events and activities at the Club, and it was great to see the membership enjoying all we had to offer.  That is what makes the SNBC the best Club around.  The support of our membership leads to great times and lasting memories that we can all look back on fondly.  While summer may be ending, the cold weather is not here yet and we still have many upcoming events for you to enjoy.

Our last cookout of the year will be held today, September 1st.  If you have yet to attend a cookout, try not to miss it.  The crew of volunteers, both Captains and Auxiliary, have done a phenomenal job this year and I cannot thank them enough.  September 10th will be our Golf Tournament to benefit our Scholarship Foundation.  I am happy to say that this year’s tournament is sold out.  While the tournament is full, there are still many ways to support our Scholarship Foundation.  Anything you can do always goes a long way to help our next generation of Captains.  Our next event will be our annual Member Outing on September 20th.  Everyone loves this event as it is a full day of food and fun.  The event starts at 9:00 AM with breakfast and won’t end until after 5:00 PM.  Various foods will be served throughout the day so there will always be something new to try.  Tickets are $30.00 per person if you purchase by September 14th and $40.00 after that.  Guests are always welcome so make sure to get your tickets soon.  Also, as we start to transition into fall, I am happy to announce that Pasta Nights will soon return.  Our first one of the year will be held on October 20th so mark your calendars.

As a reminder to all our members, in honor of Labor Day there will be no Monday night meeting on September 7th.  There will however be entertainment throughout the weekend and hopefully great weather for all of us to enjoy.  We are also working on various events for the upcoming months so stay tuned for that.  The Club can’t run as well as it does without your support and we strive to give the membership a great experience.  The Board and I are always here for our fellow Captains so if there is anything you need, or any ideas you may have to make our Club better, never hesitate to reach out.  I wish you all a great holiday weekend and will see you around the Club.

Best Regards to Everyone,

Jonathan Bove, Commodore
